The 1st 5-K OrNeg Red Cross Red Crescent Run for a Cause RATIONALE Aimed to celebrate the World Red Cross Red Crescent Day and initiate a fund-raising activity in connection with, "The Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) Annual Membership and Fund Campaign Drive.-launched on April 10, 2006. It will help generate funds for the PNRC to cover all the operational expenses for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation; healthcare; first-aid and safety-works; disaster preparedness, prevention and management; blood service and other welfare assistance. EVENT It is 5 kilometers Running/ Walking Activity included in the 9-month Dumaguete Free Marathon Clinic program supported by the City Tourism Council and the City Health Office and managed by the Metro Dumaguete Roadrunners Club (MDRCI), Inc. ---- as the Finisher's initiation Run. DATE & TIME May 8, 2006 at 5:30 to 8:00 am Monday COURSE DETAIL In front of Café Tourismo, Rizal Boulevard shall be the assembly area. Run starts in front of Café Tourismo run through Rizal Boulevard going to Looc By-pass Road, then turn left to Hibbard Avenue straight to Gov. M. Perdices Street passing the Cathedral Belfry pass across the Old Banica Bridge; thence pass through Canday-ong Road turn left and cross the New Tinago Bridge then back to Rizal Boulevard for the finish in front of Café Tourismo. The 5 kilometers run will be an out and back course starting and finishing on the Boulevard. DISTANCE 1 loop (Round) ±5 kilometers REGISTRATION All participants must register before the May 8, 2006 Run.
