It started with a dream by a group of retired runners in 2001, that someday they can help support the athletes in pursuit of their academic endeavor as well as personal achievement, dream of organizing or conducting a large running event. Most of the runners who once ran meet periodically or during training in the field or on the road, for sociability or to share their common interest, especially, running as a sport during the 80's and 90's. A number of them are scholars - school varsity, and not even the status of life was an obstacle for the runners' -some of them are running with the latest apparel, and some are running "barefoot". At present the club are composed of active runners, advocates and professionals who were grant recipients of running and/or just a sport enthusiast who love running. |
